How to Use
Measure the dose. Adults and children 12 years and over: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) every 6 to 8 hours, or as directed by a physician. Children 6 to 12 years: 1/2 teaspoonful (2.5 mL) every 6 to 8 hours. Children under 6 years: only as directed by a physician.
Shake well. Shake well before each use and measure with a proper dosing spoon or cup.
Store properly. Store between 15 and 30°C (59 to 86°F) in a tight, light-resistant container.
Drug Facts (from the label)
Active ingredients (in each teaspoonful, 5 mL): Guaifenesin 200 mg (expectorant); Dextromethorphan HBr 30 mg (antitussive).
Uses: Temporarily relieves cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation associated with the common cold or inhaled irritants. Helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive.
Warnings: Do not take for a persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma or emphysema, or a cough accompanied by excessive secretions, unless directed by a doctor. Do not use if you are taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). A cough that persists for more than 7 days, comes back, or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache may be serious; consult a doctor. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
Inactive ingredients: Artificial and natural flavors, glycerin, hydroxyethylcellulose, menthol, methylparaben, propylene glycol, propylparaben, purified water, sorbitol and sucralose.
